About AmarIP
AmarIP is a small tool that shows you your IP address and what can reasonably be worked out from it. It has been running since 2016 and was rewritten from scratch in 2026.
Privacy
This site sets no cookies. Your country and network are read from a database on this server — no geolocation service is ever called, and no fonts or map tiles are fetched from anywhere else. The page loads one outside script: our own analytics, on our own server at agent-analytics.asif.dev, which counts visits and which controls get used. Nothing you were shown is sent to it — not your address, not your hostname. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, so Cloudflare sees your address, as does every other network between you and a server.
Where the data comes from
Country and network details are resolved from the DB-IP Lite databases, stored on this server and refreshed monthly. Country names, currencies and time zones are built from CLDR and from the time zone data that ships with PHP.
Accuracy
An IP address identifies a network, not a person or a building. This site reports the country a network is registered in, and places the map marker at that country's geographic centre. Anyone claiming an IP address can find your house is selling you something.
